Class Requirements (Hands on Training)
A huge advantage about our classes is that it is not necessary for students to invest in any professional make-up products/brushes for the training. The school will provide supplies of the highest quality for students to learn about and experience true professional quality, before investing in any products.
While it is not compulsory, participants may purchase any products from the PMU range, but not during training times to avoid class disruptions. Furthermore, all students are offered discounted rates, with greater discount made available based on the volume ordered.
- Basic Stationery
An Exam Pad or Note Pad
A Pen, Pencil and Eraser
A Clipboard or Hard A4 File.
If you are already studying with us online, please bring your printed notes if you would like to refer to these during the training.
- Hygiene Requirements
Small size breath mints are compulsory (but no chewing gum).
Smokers will required to bring along their toothbrush and toothpaste in addition to breath mints.
Your own Cleanser, Toner, Make-up Remover and Moisturiser (only to be used on your face).
Your own Face Cloth and Hand Towel (only to be used on your face).
- Snack
We will provide beverage refreshments during the break; however, please bring a snack as there is not enough time to leave the premises to purchase eats.
- Models
In order to learn how to apply make-up on another face, you need a face to work on. Ideally trainees are required to pair off, under the supervision of a trainer. One partner practices a particular application on the other for 30 minutes at a time, during which the trainer points out inadequacies in technique and analyses and appraises the style and effect. Thereafter the roles are reversed. The trainer’s critique is not only of value to the trainee doing the application, but also the partner who has experienced the hand pressure and brush strokes. It is also beneficial that trainees should not have to work on the same face for every training class, as this doesn’t offer the greatest exposure to face variations.
On each training day, the requirement of models will therefore vary, depending on a number of factors (such where classes are not full, models will need to be arranged, and where there is an odd number of trainees attending a particular class (we need an even number), models will need to be arranged.
Unfortunately, the school cannot be held accountable to arrange models and the school can only be in position to notify you on the need for a model a few days prior to your class. We therefore advise that it is a requirement for each student to have a model available on stand-by for their booked training dates.
